Grooming The Lake Front Trees

The area we have been working in the fall showing the limbs we are working on

One thing Dave & Fran wanted when building this house was a view to the Lake. Well the elevation has certainly achieved that but now your so high the trees came into play. The trees were large so great care was taken as the first one which ran from right to left was notched underneath for a directional fall but never had time to cut it on top as it snapped right off. Center of tree and base was rotten and hollow. The same applies to another which went out over the lake. Now we came to the real large one that extended way out over the water. Dave wanted to maintain half of it but when they half was cut off the pressure snapped it at the base as well. The base was full of saw dust and rotten wood with large white grubs having a feast. I mean many grubs anywhere from 1 1/2 - 2" long. There is one more to shorten and we are trying to cut it off about 1/2 way up and let it grow branches from there.
Looking out to the lake from between Dave and Larry
From the new crawlspace where garage door will be
The big one which has to be topped /12 way down to were it snapped last spring
walked out on the lake and looking back, the tree in the middle was cleaned up of sucker branches but staying up
from the lake and tree far right is not Dave's
Walked out to approx location of Dave dock in the summer
Looking out to lake from my place and yes an ice fishing city out there
Summer time shows tree on left but now a lot of those branches taken away for  view. Most of the trees on the on the right have fallen once they started to be cut due to rot
